Vintage Sterling Silver, Enamel and Marcasite large Snake Brooch

Outstanding large design of a solid Silver Snake (tiny Hallmark to rear too fine to read), tests as Silver, finely decorated Silver in bands and tail, to take the fine German Marcasite, with intense Black enamel bands between, and larger Marcasite to each Eye to sparkle even more and fine Silverwork detail to head, mouth and fangs. This is a spectacular piece, an uncommon snake design with intense fine detail. Original, very old spring pin clasp in excellent working order, all in perfect condition.
