Rare Set of 12 French Art Deco Animal Knife Rests boxed

Rare set of 12 Art Deco French Knife Rests  including original box, internally named “DEETJEN” in Gilt on Cream silk Lining recessed to hold each piece. The set is for 6 pairs of animals,  Ducks, Pheasants, Rabbits, foxes, Dachshunds and Terriers, all slightly elongated and all on a fixed base plate stand. All are immaculate, heavy silver plated and each have a tiny “Hallmark” to the underside end of stand; probably being the French Silver quality Mark. A couple of pieces have a blue sheen to areas of silver, but no damage to any Silver, and obviously hardly any use. The box interior lining, gilt clips, and hinges are also immaculate, with only an old, aged Patina to the exterior, but no damage, only marks from handling and pen script “Chiens” to box top and box front side. Dimensions approx.: Bases 9.5cm wide x 2cm wide x 1mm thick; animals vary slightly but typically 8.5cm wide x 3-3.5cm high x 1cm thick.
