Rare 1950s Poodle Handbag by Soure N.Y.

A Mid Century 1950s Poodle Hand Bag by “Soure” New York, U.S.A.. This handbag is one of the designs that made them famous. Each handbag was beaded by hand and each was really unique with different coloured beads, leads, and designs.  This piece is in  very good condition for age and the “Soure New York” label is still intact to the edge of the inner pocket, that still retains the stretch elastic working perfectly and not sagging over the years. The base shows no wear whatsoever, so the history has been very kind and gentle; the velvet at clasp connection area is sightly “flattened” in small areas, but no losses or damage. The outer is a very strong, quality black velvet and the inner is similarly a strong black satin. Dimensions approx.: 39cm high to handle peak, 27.5cm to Clasp height, width at base 30cm, 23cm at start of curved clasp area; depth across clasp top 2cm, opening to 15cm, and 5.5cm deep at pleated base. This handbag is hard to find, but exceptional to get one in such good condition. Mid Century. N.Y.. U.S.A..
