Exceptional Art Deco French Marble Desk Clock

High Quality Art Deco French, Marble Clock by Monnot of Nancy, just outside Paris. This Clock Maker dates back to the French Revolution, and the Monnot Clock Patent application was filed in France on November 7, 1910.  The clock is fitted with an Alarm facility with the “off” lever at rear. All gilt Brass metal finishes with black enamel Arabic numerals and time increments to Dial. Also marked below Noon, “MONNOT. NANCY” and under the 6 position is very fine “MADE IN FRANCE”, probably just post 1915, when England declared that Country of origin must be shown on Imported goods. The rear controls have all functions, and the movement has “FABRICATION” over “FRANCAIS, and below along rim, “MADE IN FRANCE”, confirming all the clock made in France. The clock has been cleaned, checked and timed, excellent working condition with no damage. Dimensions approx.: 11cm high x 13cm wide x4.5cm deep. France. Circa 1920.
