Art Deco Revere of NY Book Spring Book End

Art Deco Spring Book Holder by Revere of New York. Design Registered in New York and Rome as clearly marked to base, with “Revere” over “Rome N.Y” also over “U.S. Patent” over “ DESIGN NO. 95811”. Original finish in very good condition with soft aged patina. This design is with the Semi-Sphere of wood with a deep Satin Black glaze finish and single Chrome spring. This imaginative design came in many variations, and came with 2 springs, different ends or centre shapes and different materials or colours . . Dimensions are approx.: Semi-sphere 15cm wide (unextended – with no books) 10.5cm thick 12.5cm high, 22cm when full of books. N.Y., U.S.A. Circa 1923
