Art Deco 1939 Lamp, New York Worlds Fair, depicting a Lamp based on the 1933 DC3 Air Liner. This plane was designed in 1933, was the main transport to bring people Worldwide to the Fair, and Fair Highlight. This lamp was the largest of 5 lamps with the same theme but different bases. The plane chromed Circular stepped base is perfect, and the upper support has a swivel ball that allows the wings and nose of the plane to tilt “up or down”.  It is in good Condition but with some age patina as expected. The cast metal Body and wings, have a couple of specs of chrome lose, and small areas of “rough” chrome on the diecast metal, and small surface cracks at wing edges, but all still solid; it retains the original, 4 stage switch that could be re-connected if returned to USA or another Country with 110 Volt power; the original switch could have the glass base illuminated; glass base “off” and plane “on”; both “on”, and finally, both “off”. To comply with Australian Electrical requirements, it has a safety, di-pole switch, all “on” or “off”. As it is, it could also worldwide by simply changing the plug at the end of the cord and the light bulbs to suit the local Voltage. Dimensions are approx..: Wingspan 34.5cm x nose to tail 23.5cm; height to tail horizontal 37cm (varies). U.S.A.. 1939.
