An Art Deco Sterling Silver Powder Compact Pendant on Chain by Battin & Co. of America. Clearly Hallmarked to the interior floor, STERLING followed by a Trident Fork, then 2, the chain is seal welded to pendant, so the mark also applies to the chain. The Alpha Characters confirming U.S.A. manufacture. A very elegant piece on a shorter chain for typical wrist, Dance wear decoration for the Period. The front is decorated to the perimeter of both the lid and case, with finely detailed Daisy and Leaf decoration. The rear is fully covered with highly decorative 3 initials, that are so stylised that the initials appear as an intricate decoration, rather than alpha characters. The interior is fully gold washed, and the lid interior has the original gilt mirror with tiny foxing and sparkle. The original Lamb’s Wool powder puffer with pink Silk Gathered grip, still intact and all perfect with a soft aged patina.
