Mid Century Lamp Worlds Fair London 1951
Mid Century Lamp, for the Worlds Fair period, London 1951, Plane made by Sarsaparilla Company, U.S.A., representing the “Skylon”, vertical “Blimp” one of the major attractions at the British Fair. The purple glass is identical in shape to the Skylon, that was supported by 3 fine cables at top and another 3 at bottom. The lamp has been totally re-wired with twist cable identical to original, with Dipole, inline Safety switch to Australian Standards, but could be easily converted for U.S.A., British or European use, by simply changing the plug at cord end, by a Qualified person, and the bulb if a different Voltage. The current bulb is incandescent, but an LED globe will be supplied (in 240V) at time of sale, as the older bulbs are being phased out Worldwide. Condition is excellent with no damage or losses, and under the wing is the Sarsaparilla Company Logo and details. Circa 1951. U.S.A. / Britain.
